William Britto is a native of Durham, North Carolina, graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) with a Bachelor of Music in Education. He is currently completing the Master of Arts in Sociology degree at Georgia State University. Upon moving to the Atlanta area in 2013, William taught in the Cobb County School District. With education as his passion, he’s worked with non-profit agencies to mitigate health disparities in black and brown LGBTQ+ communities and eventually found his way back to higher education.
William served as the Student Affairs Advisor for Education, Gender & Sexuality in the Multicultural Center at Georgia State University for 5 years where he developed and facilitated a host of workshops and trainings focused on social justice and cultural humility. In this role, he worked very closely with LGBTQ+ communities at Georgia State and in 2019, helped open Georgia State’s very first Gender & Sexuality Resource Center. Focusing on LGBTQ+ communities, he was able to create the university’s very first Lavender Graduation, Pride Prom, and LGBTQ+ mentorship program. William is excited to begin his journey at Tech and looks forward to creating dynamic programming that honors Tech’s LGBTQ+ communities!
