Q chats!

Q Chats is our student discussion group series. We provide spaces for undergraduate and graduate students who share similar identities to come together in a welcoming space and build community, share experiences, and support each other. We are currently offering Q Chats groups for Queer Men, Queer Women, Queer and Transgender People of Color, Ace, and Transgender/Gender-Questioning People. All groups are trans-inclusive.

The discussion will be based on a different topic each time and you can suggest the topics you'd like to cover. You might want to share coming out stories or discuss family, relationships, sex, politics, spirituality, pop culture, other identities that are important to you, or anything else that interests you.

Please note that Q Chats is NOT a therapy series. If you would benefit from the support of a therapist, please visit our friends in the Counseling Center who can provide sensitive, expert care.

I am an ally who really wants to learn more about ____________ group. Can I attend their meetings?

These groups are designed for students who share the identity of that group. In order to provide a safe space for folks, these groups are not intended for anyone who does not share the identity of the group.

If you want to learn more about a specific group, we would love for you to sign up for one of our allyship trainings or attend many of our campus-wide events such as our Family Reunion, Trans Day of Remembrance, OUT Week events, Lavender Celebration, and other educational and community events that we host throughout the year.

Who leads Q Chats?

Trained student facilitators will get the discussion going and make sure the group runs smoothly.
