The Award for Student Leadership honors an individual who has made significant contributions to LGBTQIA communities at Georgia Tech throughout the past year.
The award recognizes any current undergraduate or graduate student who has made significant contributions and improvements at Georgia Tech in one or more of the following ways:
- Advocating for the inclusion of LGBTQIA perspectives
- Demonstrating leadership in an organization, committee, initiative or program that increases inclusion and community building
- Through active involvement communities
- Initiating and/or implementing educational programs or initiatives
- Conducting outreach to other constituencies on campus and in the community with the goal of forming collaborative relationships
- Creating a culture where community members feel welcome, valued, and respected
- Serving as a leader, role model, advisor or mentor to LGBTQIA peers
The nomination form should include specific, demonstrable examples of how the nominee has met one or more of the above criteria. This award is intended to recognize on-campus contribution.
