The Billiee Pendleton-Parker Award for Outstanding Allyship is named after Tech’s beloved BPP who has devoted much of her time at Tech to providing unwavering and unconditional support, love, warmth, and guidance to LGBTQIA Yellow Jackets.

This award honors an individual (student, faculty, staff, alum), campus organization, or department that has demonstrated courageous and compassionate allyship to communities at Georgia Tech throughout the past year. 

  • The award recognizes any individual, organization, or department that has made significant contributions and improvements at Georgia Tech in one or more of the following ways:
  • Advocating for the inclusion of perspectives, issues, groups, or individuals in spaces, programs, and decision-making
  • Demonstrating leadership in an organization, committee, initiative or program that increases inclusion and community building 
  • Through active involvement in communities
  • Providing support (interpersonal, financial, programmatic, or otherwise) to individuals and groups
  • Initiating and/or implementing educational programs or initiatives about inclusion and communities
  • Creating a culture where community members people feel welcome, valued, and respected

The nomination form should include specific, demonstrable examples of how the nominee has met one or more of the above criteria. This award is intended to recognize on-campus contributions. The nominee can also be a department or organization.
