Transgender Day of Remembrance

Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual global commemoration of transgender people who have lost their lives to violence in the past year. It takes place on November 20th each year. The LGBTQIA Resource Center hosts an annual vigil and event to mark Transgender Day of Remembrance on or around November 20th. Our goal with each event is to honor those we have lost, uplift and support our trans community on campus, and educate cisgender students and employees on how they can create a safer world for trans people.

Trans Day of Remembrance 2021
Thursday, November 18th
11am - 1pm EST
Location TBD

Join the LGBTQIA Resource Center, Pride Alliance, and Grad Pride to honor Transgender Day of Remembrance. The Center will begin the event by hosting a short information session that is an introduction to the day and honoring the lives lost this past year. Following, staff will facilitate a discussion on reflections about the day, its meaning, and what we can all do to lessen anti-transgender violence.

Y'all means all: this is an event for all LGBTQIA+ folks and their allies. Please email for any accommodations to make this event more accessible or if you have any questions.
