Queer Women's Sex in the Dark
Monday, 22nd January, 2018
Women's Resource Center
Is oral sex safe? What kinds of sexual healthcare do queer women need? How can you effectively communicate with your partner?
Navigating sex and relationships as a queer woman can be challenging when so much sexual health information is aimed at straight, cisgender folks. Join staff from the LGBTQIA Resource Center and the Women's Resource Center for a fun and frank conversation about queer women's sexual health, safer sex, and everything else you ever wanted to know (but have been afraid to ask).
By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Explain how to properly use barrier methods to prevent STI transmission
- Identify factors to consider before engaging in sexual activity (including the importance of consent and communication)
- Identify queer sexual health resources
- Describe the risk factors associated with different kinds of sexual activity
We'll create a comfortable environment for you to ask questions anonymously. Please register in advance so we can set up the space accordingly.
This event is open to any student who identifies as a lesbian, bisexual, queer, questioning, pansexual, trans, or asexual woman, or any student who identifies as a woman who has or is thinking about having sex with women.
