Transgender Day of Remembrance 2017

Transgender Day of Remembrance is an annual global commemoration of transgender people who have lost their lives to violence in the past year.

This year, transgender Georgia Tech students and employees will share their stories of where they have found hope and resilience - in themselves, in their families, friendships, relationships, and communities. All members of the Georgia Tech community are invited to come hear these powerful and important stories.

The room will be open for 3 hours in total, and anyone is welcome to drop in to view the TDOR exhibit and watch the vigil honoring those trans lives we have lost this year between 11am and 2pm. At 12pm, our storytellers will share their stories for about 30 minutes.

We will have handouts and information on how we can practice allyship to the transgender community on campus and off, sign-ups for our spring Trans 101 trainings, and opportunities to discuss and reflect on what you have learned.

No need to RSVP - just show up for as long as you want.
