Georgia Tech does not currently have a gender-inclusive housing policy for first year students. However, the LGBTQIA Resource Center works with the Department of Housing to find a living situation that meets the needs of all first year transgender students on a case-by-case basis. Admitted transgender students should contact Camilla Brewer, Coordinator for the LGBTQIA Resource Center, to discuss housing options as soon as possible after accepting a place at Georgia Tech to ensure that a suitable solution is put in place before the start of the semester.
Gender-Inclusive Housing for Second Year Onwards
Students may identify peers with whom they wish to live in the Comments section of the housing application. All students who wish to be housed together should select the same preferences for residence halls. Currently, only apartment-style residence halls can accommodate mixed-gender groups, so groups wishing to live together should select these, and all should write in the comments section who they wish to be placed with. Students who have concerns regarding gender-inclusive housing can contact Camilla Brewer for assistance.
